Hi friends, this is the first time i show our Rodeo Chaps, one model is a fancy one, high quality leather and hand made work, the other one is a small chaps for a 2 years old kid, cheap leather, regular work.

We hadn't showed this article because to get a good leather was difficult (we found many other leather, beautiful but not tick enought for a good durability), but finally we got it.

We don´t have exclusive designs yet but we can make any design you wish, or closer as possible, custom order that may takes time.

What is the difference between us and other mexican saddle makers?

I think our clients has the best answer, you can see our testimonials, more are coming soon.

Watch this picture, this is from 2002, the saddle is from 1986, 23 years old saddle (today). Was made here, at La Regional, by my father.

The tree is a seashell inlay wooden tree, the saddle has some "piteado" design, hand stitching on borders (as all our fancy saddles), stainless steel hardware. The saddle is complete, any broken piece.

The first owner, Mr. Carlos Joya, from Puerto Vallarta, use the saddle for shows and ride at special dates, he kept the saddle for 18 years. Then, his family sold the saddle to other person who i don´t remember his name, he use it for work during the last 5 years under sun, dust and some raining, as he told. He brought the saddle for maintenance.

We don´t sell so many saddles in our city today, one thing is that our clients still have our saddles working, other thing is that our saddles are not really economic, so they wait for the end and then come for a new one.

Today we are working in new economic models, keeping our detailed and very particular work: durable and comfortable saddles. The best of México.

Hand made mexican saddle, brand new design.

The art of a mexican ancient tribe: Huicholes.

This design is based on their tradition, where the center of the design they see the "eye of God". It has some embroidery work with agave fiber, "pita". The rest of the stitching is with a cotton thread, all by hand.

This model was inmediately sold for a foreign mexican customer. But it is open for anyone who likes this original mexican saddle.

They came to Puerto Vallarta and i took them on a ride to Tepic City, 3 hours from Vallarta, there were the closer competition near around.

How can you buy safely in México throught the internet? i will put some tips that you may follow in your next travel into the internet, so you can find good items with good prices, safe at your home, where ever you are:

Major websites in Mexico doesn´t have english translation, just a few ones, if you don´t speak spanish, get help, a friend who speak spanish or someone of your trust.
Take all the time you need to make a purchase, don´t make panic shopping, or one -two days before, a good purchase takes 8 - 15 days, unless you have bought something before.
Make a couple phone calls, be sure about them calling and confirm that some one is on line all the time.
Try to find if the website has enought time in the web, check date, fisical address, history and more.
Beware about people who request you inmediately money, hurry up you for purchase or great discounts if you buy right now, beware.
Check if they have some testimonial of real people, some pictures of this people.
If you have friends or contacts in México, tell'em if they can go to the company or store and confirm if they are real, the products, attention, popularity.
Try to buy small pieces, see how much cost the shipment, don´t permit changes in prices after deal.
Don´t give your personal information before the trial, do it before.
Paypal.com is a safe way to send money, free and quick.

You may know or find more points, but i think those are the most important. Mexican artisans are working hard to show their products to the wourld, direct from their workshop, not throught other hands.

1940 fashioned mexican saddle

This mexican saddle, old fashioned, was made by my self with the best materials, as usually works in La Regional Talabarteria. Tick and soft leather, all weather resistant.

Rawhide wood tree, style called 'villista', made in San Miguel el Alto, Jalisco, by 'La Herencia' factory, with more than 40 years making trees.

Conchos and buckles made of brown bronzed iron with silver inlay, hand made in Amozoc, Puebla by Mr. Antonio Baez, son of a men wich have 60 years making spurs, horse bits, buckles, stainless or silver trees and many other metal things.

This style is based on 1910 pictures and 'Pancho' Villa and people saddles, that`s way it`s called 'Villista' saddle. Of course, it has some custom changes and adds, desined by me and my family with the seal of La Regional.

The 'tapadera' stirrups was designed since the colonia, to protect the riders from bush and plants, the round curve on stirrups straps was designed to protect from horse sweat.

As you can see, this saddle is made by mexican materials and artisans, 100% hand made.
